Sly Clyde Ciderworks has really big plans. Just blocks from the beach and bathed by the sun, Sly Clyde is selling Virginia’s first beach-based cider in the best shops and restaurants in South East Virginia. We are looking for someone to join our start-up, activate and drive a regional sales strategy, and contribute to an insanely fun brand. Our award-winning team of cider makers is crafting delicious hard ciders that need the support of an equally effervescent sales team. If you are motivated, we should talk.

The Marketing and Sales position will cultivate existing customers, generate new retail sales, leverage existing distribution partnerships, and fuel a creative brand through social media. 

Responsibilities

  • Make daily sales calls to existing and new accounts in the Hampton Roads and South Hampton Roads area to sell draft and packaged product
  • Build relationships with customers and manage key accounts:
    • Know bar managers and beer buyers by name.
    • Frequently check-in on accounts.
    • Manage a list of key contacts through a CRM.
  • Track, meet, and work to surpass sales goals
  • Deliver merchandise, tap handles, and other sales items as required
  • Work closely with regional distributors:
    • Working with cider makers, train distributor sales reps on the values and unique elements of Sly Clyde ciders.
    • Ensure that our customers are getting timely and complete responses from our distributors.
    • Work with the Craft Brand Manager at the distributors to establish incentives, product allocations for special releases, and retail placements during fall and spring product resets.
  • Coordinate and attend special events, including at local bars and festivals
  • Conduct tastings at grocery stores, bottle shops, retail pop-ups, etc
  • Frequently capture photos and video for use in social media channels

Experience and Skills

  • Required
    • 3+ years in an outside sales capacity, preferably in the craft alcohol industry
    • A strong sense of customer care and satisfaction
    • Personable, friendly, good memory for names and faces
    • Professional demeanor, ability to promote the values and products of Sly Clyde
    • Relationship builder, who knows how to create connections

 

  • Strongly Desired
    • Knowledge of the Hampton Roads and South Hampton Roads regions
    • Contacts in the food distribution industry, particularly beer and wine
    • Self-starter, “above and beyond” mentality, keen interest in learning more about cider
    • Excellent with photography

Other Requirements

  • Flexible schedule
  • Reliable car that can hold several kegs and packaged product
  • Ability to lift product, potentially kegs

Compensation

  • Base salary depending on experience
  • Commission structure to be determined
  • Gas and mileage
